IAA pickups, checked in on the Tow App.
IAA Greenville is in Simpsonville, twenty miles from our yard, and the Asheville and Charlotte branches are an hour or so up the road. We pick up total-loss, insurance and dealer units for rebuilders, dealers and exporters, and every unit is photographed before it is loaded.
Illustrative photography — not Prime Trans equipment. How does an IAA vehicle pickup work?
A transporter registers as an outbound transporter at any IAA branch. It then schedules each pickup in the IAA Tow App by stock number, confirms the buyer ID and checks in on arrival. Prime Trans, a Spartanburg car hauler, runs IAA branches in the Carolinas and Georgia this way. IAA charges a cancellation fee if a unit sits unpicked 30 days after payment.
IAA's own branch names, with the town each one is in.

IAA's rules, and how we work to them.
- RegistrationOutbound transporters register at an IAA branch. Our drivers check in through the IAA Tow App with the stock number and your buyer ID.
- Yard hoursIAA releases units only during the branch's yard hours. We book inside them, not at the gate at closing time.
- LoadingIAA's 2025 loading policy bars front-end or side loading of anything larger than a midsize truck, keeps drivers ten feet from the loader, and lets loader operators refuse a load. A non-runner the loader won't touch goes on our winch, which is why we ask at booking.
- SecurementIAA's rules make the buyer's transporter responsible for directing the load onto the truck and securing it. That means our driver and our straps, and the unit is our responsibility from the gate.
- 30 daysIAA charges a cancellation fee if a unit isn't picked up within 30 days of payment. We don't let it get close.
Released to your forwarder, delivered to the warehouse.
IAA treats export purchases as routed export transactions and releases the units to the buyer's U.S. forwarding agent. On an export unit, we work for that forwarder or are released through it, and we deliver to its loading warehouse or consolidation yard in the Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, New Jersey or Houston areas. We don't deliver into port terminals. See Export vehicles.
Same truck, different paperwork.
Carvana has owned ADESA's U.S. auctions since 2022 and still runs them under the ADESA name. The nearest are ADESA Charlotte, about 80 miles away, and ADESA Atlanta in Fairburn, about 190. ADESA wants units picked up within seven calendar days, and its off-site lots need an auction-issued gate pass. OPENLANE sells online and has no physical U.S. auction sites, so an OPENLANE unit is a pickup at the seller's lot. Send us the release and the seller's contact, and we run it the same way.
Straight answers
Where is IAA Greenville?
IAA's Greenville (SC) branch is at 422 Scuffletown Road in Simpsonville, about 20 miles from our yard in Spartanburg. There is no IAA branch in Spartanburg itself.
Can IAA refuse to load my vehicle?
Yes. IAA's loading policy says loader operators can say no, and it bars front- or side-loading anything larger than a midsize truck. That is why we put non-runners on a winch truck: the winch loads the unit whether or not the loader will.
Do you need my IAA buyer number?
Yes. The IAA Tow App checks each pickup against your buyer ID and the stock number, so send both with the release.
Are ADESA and OPENLANE the same company now?
No. Carvana bought ADESA's U.S. physical auctions in 2022 and still runs them as ADESA. OPENLANE is the online marketplace that KAR Global kept, and it has no U.S. auction sites.
