Copart pickups, five miles from our yard.

Copart Spartanburg on Nazareth Church Road is five miles from our yard. We run it, and the Copart yards across the Carolinas and Georgia, for rebuilders, dealers and exporters. The gate PIN is handled, non-runners ride on a winch truck, and every unit is photographed before it leaves the yard.

How do I get a car picked up from Copart?

In your Copart account, open Payments Due, select the lots, choose Send to Transporter and enter your transporter's email. Copart then sends the transporter a gate PIN and an appointment link. Prime Trans, a Spartanburg car hauler, handles the pickup from there, putting non-runners on a winch truck. Copart stores a unit free for up to three days, counting sale day.

Copart names yards by metro, and the metro is often not the town: "Columbia" is in Gaston, "North Charleston" is in Harleyville, "Raleigh" is in Dunn. We dispatch to the street address. Copart runs more yards in North Carolina, Georgia and Tennessee, and we quote any of them.

How the release works

From your Payments Due page to our truck.

  1. 01

    You send it to us

Go to Payments Due, select the lots, choose Send to Transporter and enter dispatch's email. Tell us which units don't run and whether any are oversize.

  2. 02

    We book the appointment

Copart sends us a gate PIN and a link to the Copart Transportation App. We book the pickup appointment and check in when we arrive.

  3. 03

    Photos before loading

Copart units usually carry damage, which is why they are at Copart. Every unit is photographed on all sides on the eBOL before it is loaded, so the damage it came with is on record and not charged to us.

  4. 04

    Delivered

To your shop, your lot, a body shop or your exporter's warehouse, with photos again at delivery and the POD the same day.

Non-runners and salvage

The winch has to be on the truck that shows up.

Copart does not allow vehicles to be driven off its lots, and its yard rules bar tools, code readers included. A unit that won't start is loaded on a winch or not at all. Some of our trucks have winches. Tell us at booking which units are non-runners and we put them on a winch truck. An undisclosed non-runner means a dry run and a second trip.

Titles

When the title rides with the car.

With a Limited Power of Attorney on file, Copart can send the title with the buyer's transporter. When your title rides with the unit, we log it on the eBOL and hand it over with the car. That matters most on export units, where the exporter needs the original title at the port.

Questions shippers ask

Straight answers

How long can a car stay at Copart before storage fees?

Copart's own help pages say it holds a vehicle free for up to three days, counting sale day. Storage accrues after that, so send the release as soon as the unit is paid.

Can a car be driven out of a Copart yard?

No. Copart does not allow vehicles to be driven off its lots, so every unit leaves on a truck. Non-runners need a winch, so tell us at booking which units don't run.

Do you pick up from Copart for exporters?

Yes. Export buyers use Send to Transporter the same way. We deliver to the exporter's loading warehouse or consolidation yard in the Charleston, Savannah, Jacksonville, New Jersey or Houston areas, never into a port terminal.

Do you run Copart yards outside South Carolina?

Yes. Fletcher, Gastonia, Concord and China Grove in North Carolina and the Atlanta and Augusta yards in Georgia are regular runs. Anything farther is quoted on request.

A unit on the lot costs you every day it sits there.

Tell us where the units are, where they are going, how many and when. A written quote comes back the same business day, from the carrier that will haul them.
